$9.99 for the book, $39.99 if you want to hold it. The price is per book, and it's the same story and the same illustrations either way — the difference is paper.

The three ways to get it

The book — $9.99: 24 pages, written and illustrated for one specific kid. It arrives as a print-ready PDF that's yours to keep and reprint as many times as you want.
The hardcover — $39.99: The same book on real paper, printed, bound and shipped to you. Same story, same illustrations — just something you can hand to them.
Both — $49.98: The PDF now and the hardcover when it's printed. People pick this when the book has to be under a tree on a specific day and they want a backup they can read on a tablet.

What that price covers

There are no per-step fees. One price covers the whole book, from the first draft of the story to the finished file.

Why it isn't hundreds of dollars

Some personalized-book companies advertise "no AI." We'd rather just tell you the truth: AI is the reason this costs $9.99. A custom-written, custom-illustrated book made entirely by hand runs into the hundreds.

But AI on its own writes forgettable stories and draws hands wrong, so no book leaves here until a person has read it. We wrote out exactly which parts are the machine and which parts are a person on the how it works page.

You pay after you've read it

There's no checkout on this page and no card field anywhere on this site yet. You tell us about the kid, we finish the book by hand, and it lands in your inbox. You decide after you've read it.

Which means there's nothing to cancel

If the book isn't what you wanted, reply to the email and tell us what's wrong and we'll redo it. If you'd rather walk away, you can — you haven't paid anything.

What this page doesn't tell you

Shipping cost and delivery dates aren't listed here. Every book is finished by hand and we take a limited number at a time, so a number posted on a page would be a guess — and a guess is worth nothing to someone shopping for a specific date. Tell us the date you need it by and we'll confirm whether we can make it before you commit to anything.
